I spent a lot of time there in the 90's, fish, swim, bonfires camp, cook out and just have a good time almost everyday in the spring, summer , fall and some winters. I haven't gone there to chill in years. I did make a drive through there a year ago and it was all built up. We quit going there after a family drowned there. There were always Sheriff Deputy's doing patrol, and then they had the whole thing blocked off with boulders. There was no way to get in(even in a 4 wheel drive).

PLEASE - if you visit, leave with your trash. There is a growing litter problem. If you want to help, when you visit take just one or two pieces of extra trash with you! The reservoir is beautiful and it takes all of us to keep it so!

Mountain Gap was the last operational WHITE one-room school. Second Street School in Waterford was the last operational one-room school when it closed in 1957.

Hello,

I am researching the crash of the Pennsylvania Central airliner that crashed 2 miles west of Lovettsville on Aug 31, 1940. The location of the crash was on the Clarence Bishop farm.

I am wondering if this site is known with certainty and if you could give me directions to the site.

It would be nice if these sites provided a map or long/lat to help you get to the location. It's great that it exists but I would like to actually know how to get there. Sheesh!
